HI Paul
Is this a looper distributor and if yes, how many were made?
Thanks for the input, I can sure use it. I should have said trim unit. I do have both and was going to put the short horizontal race trim cylinders. The jack plate I have is hydraulic and very low...
I think I have enough parts to put the trim and tilt on the motor. The jack plate is a 5" setback manual plate that was on the boat so I dont know how it ran without one. I have a 1 1/2 setback...
Hi Tom
Its page 1 post #4 my 14' Allison. Update is: I found that is has solid lower mounts already, so I installed the dual steering, rewired it, put in a center gas tank and new extended steering...
Was it only the long shaft or the early 73 motors? My other 1500 short shaft is a 1973. Maybe I should check the exhaust ports.
I'm going to try the solid mounts as I already had them. Any input on the teleflex twin cable steering system?
Bill, I will let you know in a run or two when I'm going to run it. I need some run...
Engine ran great. Driver stinks, but will improve. It has some awsome power but I need to handle the chine walk. The front was rocking hard and I couldn't power through it. It was windy and after a...
I will know in about a half hour. A 7 A.M. River run. Going to wake up my chase boat now.
Hi Bill
I picked up the 14' Allison with the 1500xs and it had the pump on it. I dont know if the origional works or not, so I will try it. I'm going to see if I can check the pressure on it as I...
I have an xs that has the fuel pump disconnected and an electric one added. I dont know why it was changed. The questions are: Do I just plug the crankcase lines running to it or tie them together?...
The driveshaft was cut off. I'm going to see if it can be squared off and add a coupling. I tried to fit it under my 150 but the water pump housing is too big. I have to make a spacer. Anyone have...
What type of lower is this? Sam? It has a large open exhaust opening.
And I beleive the stainless exhaust tubes look like this...........Now Sam if I only could find the Exhaust plate and elbows......Hmmmmmmmmm
The boat might be a little heavy (unless I stay out of it!). I just found the Merc 150 with the 125 cowling on it. The guys boat was rated for 125 H.P. hence the 125 cover. I thought that if its...
Thanks Sam
Thats a great help! We can always count on you for detailed answers.
 Can someone give me a little history on them? I know speedmaster was the early foot, but what are the differances? What years were they made? What styles? #4? #5? Gear ratios? Remote...
I have a $1000 in insurance on it. They did the origional packing. Then after it was damaged, they took the damaged box and put it into another so I have that also! I took digital pictures of it as...
Just received my D Looper from FEDEX smashed. Origional as raced and not frozen up. I'm really mad as it was dropped then put in another box and shipped as if nothing happened. Nothing on it to say...
Who is running what plugs on their loopers? I'm looking for info on C, D, and F loopers. What is a good starting point. What is the next hotter or colder plug? Anyone with a good cross reference? The...
The I.D. looks to be the same as the photo sizes in the Quincy Exhaust thread. The O.D. is about 1 7/8 at the small end and 6 1/16 at the bell. This is an exact fit in my origional elbows. I did see...
Rich Ollhoff in Wisconsin has a cast of the Gen 3 bell and the elbow with the water injection hump. The elbow can be drilled and ported to match your power head. I'm posting a photo of both. He also...
Just a few more photos as the motor is taken apart. If anyone has one extra Gen 2 exhaust bell please let me know. Thanks...Steve
I was going to post some photos on the "other site" that dumped the Looper forum. I hope to show some of the internal photos for anyone that has never seen the inside of a looper. I myself have never...
What I have is a mismatch all in the same motor. It is a machined slot in the exhaust port and the elbows. It looks to be a flat plate in the block and sharp in the elbows at the end. To be missing...
I'm taking apart my D looper to start a rebuild and I noticed the exhaust ports are different. Three have dividers and one doesn't. The elbows are different also. What I have is : Two have dividers...
