Hi Ron
been a few years, ( when Al shut shop was when I was there) hope to drop in again for taco Friday
Many thanks for all your effort for years on this site.
I hope you will still post?
A...
Do the Yams have trim, that a very cool feature with them an option to have 15" with trim.
Many people use them on 15" omc's
Do you have thundercats down there most have/had Tohatsu 50 in the stock class from years ago?
https://www.ibr.us/
Heres's a few t750 tohatsu's racing - can still buy the 50 carby 15" will small case in Asia.
I have raced in HK, Macau, Singapore, Thailand
https://apachampionship.com/
someone will have the old Critchfield fomula e molds?
USA boats tend to have huge planks so go fast but dont corner compared to euro hulls that dont have planks at all
Whilst I am checking the cost I would guess a 20' container asia to USA is probably USD15k+ at the moment, more than the hull cost
I will find out for you
M50D2 tohatsu is 5600 singapore dollars
You can still buy in Asia and UK
Martin was able squeeze in to the local circuit, so we got a day of free practice then 5 races and 4 on last day i think...
Weather was great, water flat less when the wind came up.
They are quiet...
Just did a weekend in Thailand racing thanks to an invitation from Martin Lai of https://apachampionship.com/
The old guys didnt turn up so I moved up a step or 2....
all jet ski ignitions have rpm retard ( due to better exhaust I'll bet), outboards could do with it as well, once you pump up the comp and revs
Seaway still make this stuff when they get enough demand and they can keep doing it as logn as they like
Does the ignition work like a 49/56 3 cyl, then you have unlimited packs.
interesting project you have there, what the story with the vibration?
PS its going on a sst45 mid not a stinger as the etec has the 2 cyl bolt pattern which is completely different than the 3cyl
sure injection cools and slows the exhaust for mid range
common on modified jet skis
the 45 is a 45ci engine that makes 70hp at 7000 but based on 50hp at the crank before higher comp and modded...
yes but long exhaust is all about low end power, perhaps run a rotax pack as the sled guys have full access to programing an e-tec
Guys i need to travel to do a job lifting the engine off for a buddy.
I assume i can use my omc lifting tool.
Anyone know what bolts you need?
Thats a carby 2 stroke oil inj from 10 years ago.
How do I get a signed one?
if you go down the carby route you need to make a flywheel and get a cd ignition set up under it.
Plus the issue if the mains can gravity feed?
I was thinking leave it as an e-tec?
It has huge...
The Seaway version
I just looked on the bench, the top of the lifting eyes are at the same height,
So I will need to find a crank and flywheel to check if my guess was right or not?
The top of the...
I wasnt thinking pull start
race it stock, will last for years
the current 45 cowl will go over it no problem
not sure but they have big potential when you look at the airflow, maybe new head and twin barrel carbs?
( saying that a flywheel will be a problem so after market ignition or stick to e-tec)
the secret future for sst45 to keep it running for the next 50 years
yep
bolts in same place
generally more volume in there makes its lazy at the bottom end when you run carbs?
I can see one area to fix, your carb entry's a squared off, that's not conducive to flow
light and fast its always the tallest ratio.
that means maybe less acceleration and less load carrying ability but will always mean best top speed.
Hi Dick
ages ago I was trying to find that rotary load cell kit I knew they used on Class 1 offshore boats in europe, not sure who supplied those
but I found an old Hot rod 2013 and...
Nice
FYI
very similar to the old Factory when building OMC F1 V8's but they were a little more aggressive with 30 sec under load and 30 sec cool off up at all revs working up to 7500. that takes...
yep your right, I would bet one of them is wrong?
On boats.net you get different carb part number.
I did notice the 5 digits are the same in the middle of the part number but prefix and suffix different.
Never heard of blocking exhaust to restrict hp.
Normally carb venturi size so carbs are different part number.
are the blocks the same part number?
Al Stokers 9 pages doc has dimensiions.
I will post it in a few days when i get home.
e-tec?
it makes more power but having the piston flat against the exhaust port rather then cocked over
custom 49ci race engine from OMC
no good I'll give ya $100 to take it away...lol
31M race engine
great offer, love to do that
Hi Ron from teh PArker thread on S&F
The Div. II 2.0 liter rules say V-4 and inline 6 motors are called alternate motors and are exempt of the aforementioned rules. How much freedom are we talking...
yes 12 T750 boats with stock 50 3cyl tohatsu's will be in Singapore Dec 6,7,8
Thanks Ron yes still in Singapore
The question is for us here from the Port Authority, simple question but its not on any UIM or APBA doc I can find.
We are 99% there to have T750 race on the east...
Hi Guys
can anyone point me to a specification for the safety clearance from race track to spectator boats?
Has there ever been a specification posted like how fast how far type of thing?
...
if pistons are stock you add 030 to original bore size
is the hull smooth underneath in the middle or does it have the join seam protruding?
Thats an issue when raising the engine height
You need to check what the piston uncovers.
So you need to crank in a block with piston and rod
good question, thats very important.
lots of dyno time and egt monitoring required there
typically you lower the angle to shift the powerband up
are you taking of ports above the piston or below?
how do the ports in the piston line up?
There is a simple mod and thats to make a late 45 piston cut look like the old 60hp one
