I was one of those in attendance and always thought (until tonight) that it was intentional ... like when you would pass someone on the highway that didn't know about hydroplanes ... "What's that...
Of the 55 boats in AOH ... anybody have any memory of the various engines that were being run that year ... in other words how many were Konigs, Anzanis, Quincy, Mercs, (hotrods)? I was there but...
Probably shouldn't speak for either of these two guys but I would think that Craig Fjarle (he's in the biz) and/or Pat Gleason would be the ideal candidates to capture some of the Region 10 lore ......
Trivia question ... anyone care to guess what was the original meaning of D.A.R.T when it was first used in reference to Ron Anderson?
Has anyone kept up to date on his family?
Wayne;
Do you recall if Bob Hering and Ron Anderson were at that race!
Seller confirmed hydro to be a Sid and the runabout he thinks is a DeSilva ... any ideas about vintages?
Anyone have any history on this ... Any idea what make of hydro on middle bunk of trailer? Wayne???...
Agree ... heard some pretty amazing stories and saw ROFLMAO things take place in the Rio Bravo bar over the years ... too bad it's gone!
Curious ... there was only one Region 10 driver registered for CSH ... Dave Jaeger ... my recollection was that there was plenty of stock outboard racing going on out here in the early 70's so why...
I'll try to be patient ;) I know this stuff takes time. What you are adding to this site is truly appreciated by everyone of us that frequent this place. It's what keeps us coming back ... thanks...
I don't recall seeing any photos from the Worlds in 73 ... have you posted them? thanks
Hey Wayne ... what do you have in the way of photos and stories from the 1973 APBA Alky Nationals ...
Hey Gleason ... more of your picture collection too ... Please!!!
Wayne ... as others have stated ... your contributions to the BRF content is really appreciated. Please post more of the photos ... particularly interested in any additional Lawrence Lake or Region...
Bump ... just because I didn't want my questions to get lost ...
... how about powder coating parts. What is the maximum temperature that powder coating will tolerate? Can you powder coat, blocks, cases expansion chambers ... or, will they get too hot and...
A week ago the SOA (Seattle Outboard Asociation) held its annual "re-union" meeting. Lee Sutter attended. I sat with him and listened to him talk about his boat racing days for over two hours ... I...
Hey Patrick ... any idea when/where those photos were taken
Just guesses ... but, top right FRR of Chuck Walters...
Middle left would be Mike Jones and one of his J kids ...
Middle right ... none other than the "Genius" Jim Hallum ...
Bottom left ......
The name combination Rhodes & Daniels comes to mind but ... someone else from R10 will know for sure.
Hope this works and the boys over at the "Pit Stop" don't mind ... link to a fascinating post ...

David Letterman :D ... seriously, the whole Quincy story needs to be captured for posterity right here on BRF ...
Ron Andersons dad Rennie was a frequent visitor in the pits. Understood he was a decent photographer ... always had a camera around his neck or in hand ... I've always wanted to see what he...
Fred ... you never told us what the answer was to your question.
PS: Where is Bob Hering now ... what is he doing?
Understand what Sutter was doing in Alexandria at that time ... but can't remember what Don Anderson would have been racing ... perhaps ARR or BRR. Brother Ron would have been driving AOH and BOH?
50's HRA Konig 250 ... today it would have to be the Rossi 125.
O.F. Christner?
"I" I agree with ... but, isn't "O" still used for southern cal ... "C" for northern cal?
