So no one has any pics of the old BLACKBIRD??? I heard it looked like the Stealth bomber. Maybe it wouldn't show up on film anyway???

I think that you would be fine for using the powerhead bolts as anchors. I ahve wings like that on my 2.6 and they work fine. NEver had a problem. I have attached a couple of pics but it not easy...
One thing to try, and I do it all the time on the V-6 YAMAHA's, is to wire in a Merc Primer solenoid. Works great and starts even better than the choke plates. I use the blue wires that activates...
Apparently I missed something else. I had mine cut because I wanted a 15in midsection and a custom trim system for my XR Allison.
I got both and I am very pleased. As far as the shaft... The...
Maybe I missed something...

Maybe I'm out in left field here but why not just have it resplined??? Instead of cutting up a bunch of sockets and all... Have the guy who does the SS to just respline the shaft.

got some pics of the 115 case? Who did the cone?
The V-4 Yamaha is a 4in case just like an XR6 Mercury but at probably 1/3 the cost. The case off of the 70 Yamaha that I used to have also used a 15spline prop shaft but I think it was a 2.33:1...
Just find a Yamaha V-4 gearcase. I bought a clean one not long ago for $450.00. 2:1 gears, 15spline propshaft and VERY good reliability.
I'm guessing that the boat doesn't have any sort of a pad keel does it? If not that may be a bit of a chore. How is the wheel torque? Is it trying to pull to left? How high is the motor in...
Hell yes! Spill it!
regarding that deal is all second hand but I heard that in a corner somewhere, in a warehouse are some parts that will make a Yamaha fly and I think I even remember hearing that there are a couple of...
Hey there Keith, is that the old Leon Craft Molds that I used to hear about?
No doubt. Would be cool to see one much less find one in resurrect-able condition. Does anyone have any pics of the bottom design???
Looks like someone fab'bed a bell at the bottom of the tuner. It can't hurt...
Oh. Well. I didn't know that. SO most of these clubs don't put the entry fees in the pot?
Well then you're right. Quarantine the fuel and hope every one is honest. Most are and the ones that...
Incorrect... Completely incorrect. Actually it's just the opposite. Keeping things fair and 'by the rule book' does nothing but keep the cost down for racers. What if you do all the testing and prop...
COOL RIG! I like the looks of it.

If he's got a stock motor, just remove the rev limiter, add the bigger carbs and compression and you have him beat. I'm not sure if your Yamaha would ahve come with 32mm carbs or smaller. If it has...
If you have access to any decent welders or machinists then you need to go ahead and build a horizontal reed V-4. No sense messing with the verticle reed stuff as you are giving away a bunch of...
Thanks for the post Wayne... Cool to see all those boats and remember a few of the drivers that are no longer with us.

I remember the one that you are talking about. Powerboat had a pic of that boat sitting at the dock and you could see inside it... Chris was just about to blast away from the dock it appeared. I...
the wall in his office at work... He says that was back when life was grand!!!!!!!!:D
I just sent him this pic and he got a big kick out of it. He said the boat was supposed to be in the 400# range but ended up around 570#. He ran it in a few SORA races but mainly ran SDBA with a...
be very popular around here. There was a set of molds that used to float around in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex. Troy Gaddy used to have some very fast ones in teh early 70's to early 80's. ...
LOL! I happen to know this boat. It was the 4th one out of the mold(#'s 1&2 went to Chris Bush I understand) and this one went to David Goodfellow out of Fort Worth TX. He built that trailer in...
1750XS\T-3's.... Great looking motors and for the day were pretty hard to beat...
Also the later 2.4 Oval port EFI's.... Late 80's versions...

I would leave the engine hight up to the set-up guys with a rule that cooling water has to be picked up by the gearcase. Mandate Stock bore carbs. Allow mods such as jetting, slosh tubes, velocity...
The closest thing to F150 rules is DSRA Super Stock. Stock powerheads, no metal removal, no balancing, stock carbs only..... This class drew over 20 entries per race last year and is expected to...
stuff like fuel requirements? ODBA has a fuel supplier that provides us our fuel\oil at a discounted price. We guarantee a certain volume of fuel sold per year so it works out good for all...
What are the F150 rules? I already have an f150 but I don't think it's gonna float at all...

I have always been a big fan of Mercury but I also like to root for the underdog and when Al Stoker won I was certainly hoping that Mercury would do the right thing, in the right way. So much for...
don't like to get beat. If the narrow minded manufacturers would look beyond the winners circle for just a minute you might see that change but they don't. The manufacturers want their motor in the...
