Ron,
No kidding those Hedlund's were fast, they passed me like I was running an ASH in BSH.
I remember Jimbo barrel rolling in BU. The lake was pretty rough.

Mark,
Thank you for posting and for posting all of the great pictures. Do you still see Jan, George and Earl? They put my dad and I up in their home when I came up for the Stock Nationals...
Ron,
I remember those pictures hanging in your dad's garage, thank you for posting them!
Jerry
I don't know how the one that David's dad had was set up but mine had a tray mounted to both pipes that slid on a pair of rods that were bolted to the engine. I don't know if this was the factory set...
Thanks David, that is the exact motor that I ran. I couldn't remember for sure if it was 1969 or 1970 that I got it. Did you and your dad run yours with the sliding throttle or a seperate lever for...
Wayne,
I think I got the A motor from Marcell in the fall of 1970, it was the one that he had run at the nats in 1970. I picked up a 12' 6" Bellcraft that had blown off of the Hauenstein's...
Wayne,
Thank you for posting the pictures of the Konig plant. They sure bring back some memories of when I was a whole bunch younger and was able to race my AOH and BOH. I wish I could remember...
Sam,
A great big thank you to you and all who helped get this thread recovered!
Jerry
Looking at it from that angle it is not a BellCraft, the Bellcraft's deck had more arch IIRC.
Jerry
It might be a BellCraft, it does look a lot like my 12'6" Bellcraft that I ran in AOH back in 70-71.
Alan was always good at nailing the start! If I had been smarter I would have always made my run for the start beside Alan. I miss the fun that we had back in the late 60's early 70's.

That sure looks like an Anzani or Harrison-Anzani hybred to me. There is what looks like a mag hanging off of the front of the engine and the carb is in the normal position for an Anzani, it looks...
Wayne,
You could tell her you were mugged. :D
Jerry
That wasn't a race, that was an enduro contest!
Don,
I thought the ship canal races were held in Tacoma but that was a long time ago and I could be mistaken. I do know that we raced on lake Sammamish fairly often.

John,
I don't know where you could do it online as that has to be one huge file. I know that I would never be able to download it, I am on a 20K dialup connection. I don't know about anyone else...
Great photos John! Wish I could identify the people.
Jerry
Smitty,
I looked at the pictures in photoshop blown up and it looks to me as if Gerry was running a Lucas mag. I think that he was still running the mags with the bounce pipes at the Divisionals...
Carl,
I think you might be right on the year being 1971. That was the last year that I raced and Gerry may have been using more than one setup at that time, I remember his trailer sure had a lot...
Carl,
I think those pictures are a bit older than you think, when I raced in the Western Divisionals at Moses Lake in 1970 or 1971 Gerry was running bounce pipes on his Anzani, I was running a...
John,
At that time I was only 21 and trust me dad did not like any "helpful" information from someone who he felt was wet behind the ears. <grin> I don't know if Tenny had told my dad what...
John,
That porting looks like what was done to my dad's A in 1968 or 1969. We were only running 10% nitro and never did get it to run as fast as it had before the port work. Wish I knew where...
John,
The best that I can do is a picture from after a race, the boats and everything were already loaded. Like most racers we didn't take many pictures at all. Dad sold all of his and my...
John,
Back when my dad was racing AOH with an Anzani in the late 60's we had a saying for Lucas that was very appropiate to me since I was the one lifting..........Left Us Cold And Standing.
