Is that a rubber hubbed prop? If the vibration is only in gear at speed, it could be the prop hub has spun. Just a thought.

Strictly an educated guess on my part because Larry ran a kick a$$ merc in C service and there were generally no other omc style rigs (pictured) that close to their pits.
2 trailers and 7-10 boats...
Most probably Dean Sr. since he is listed in the program under the C Service 1 class roster. Larry always ran the merc.
By this time Dad was only running this rig at Depue, this might actually have...
We still have it, although I'm not sure of the serial number or if it has one.
It's a billet block and is complete, it was running before we stored it away.
BTW, the intermediate housing was also...
That's an interesting idea Frank.
I know that Dad and Larry tried the wide elbows with chambers for a while since Larry had success with the 2 cyl motors. However, on the 6 they couldn't resolve a...
Actually, all that is required to do is swap the headers, front to back, and turn them around to point the other direction. Then make a slider bracket.
Very cool to know, thanks Wayne!
I also was not there that year...was at camp or some such thing.
I saw those kind of races all summer though and there was usually 2-3 Kirts on 1100H, including...
I recently spoke to Bill Rucker Jr, who has been following this thread with great interest. He reminded me that the current 1100H Kilo record is 122mph set in 1983 by a Lon Stevens 6 deflector. Which...
In 1972 or 1973 my dad drove Larry Latta's for an average 109, just a few tenths under 110 at Kaukauna, WI. This was with the competition set-up since they wanted to get a baseline on the first run....
Hard to believe it was that long ago. My brother Steve and I were the Time Trial Reps and scanner operators. Although the sun is out, it was an extremely cold week and all we thought about was how...
If I had to guess...I'd say Pete Nydahl...but man that's a tough one.
Also a guess but the arm on the motor stand with the blue shirt sleeve is probably Henry Wagner.
Yes Wayne, you were right,...
Wayne, you posted a great start to that thread on page 12 of "Where the action is", including this shot. Tremendous foresight on your part. This was also my first Nationals. This is a Bell Craft,...
That picture would be him. He tried to duck inside you'all konigs in the first turn and spun that tank out, think he was 3rd at the time. Some broken wiring (which we couldn't track down in time)...
A six looper on a yellow Byers would have been Dean Wilson, Sr.
If thats the style hydro you're looking at Wayne.
The boat# would be C-44.
Boy that's still painful to watch all these years later. I was on the losing end of the crash. I had no idea it was posted anywhere. The tunnel boat was from Austria and he spun-out on every bouy...
Hi Paul,
I sent you an email. Hope you got it. Let me know.
Thanks.
Dean Wilson Jr.
I can confirm that Gary is Jeff's dad. Gary and my dad were friends from grade school and lived within a few blocks of each other in Madison. Jeff and I spent several winter breaks together until we...
Hi Wayne,
Just want to let you know really enjoy the stories and the pics of the places and people I knew growing up. A while ago you mentioned that you were looking for AC M40FF spark plugs for...
