I have about 200 more photos from this event to post and then some more undated photos from 1970-1974. I'll keep at it until I've posted everything worth posting.

I think you may have a one of a kind photo of a one of a kind engine. No. 191 is Jimbo and looks like a Goat Boat. Look at the cowling on that Super Strangler! They were experimenting with aero tapering (streamlining) the engine cowl Never seen that one before. Great pics!

Found this on the internet, not sure what publication it is from. It is a nice story on the 1974 race.
Here is some memorabilia from the race.

This last series looks like the Sport J's. In the last picture the blue boat #128 is Howard Pipkorn in a Hydrostream Puma. That is a great shot! I love it! Also another great picture of Jimbo with the crazy streamlined hood.
Something else going on with that midsection. I see he was not shown in the standings as having placed......not like Jimbo. I wonder if he had mechanical issues with the heavily prototyped motor?
Kitson hulls were well represented at this race (i.e. 964, 431, 476, 1074, and 825 to mention a few). I hope you will post some more of the UI and UJ's. Thanks again!
