Now I have some old pictures for you to identify. I know you know some of these guys, but how many? What can you tell us about them. The pictures were taken at a marathon on the Weser River in Karlshaven, Germany in 1976.

HeeHee Wayne, I do my best.
I have never raced at Weser River in Karlshaven.
Not so good at German SD/SE drivers 1976 but can tell the #11 cat is a Velden, the #154 is a Clerici model year 1973.
The # 21 & 44 is Swedish built V-bottom boats. If I remember right the brand was Gambler 45.
PS...after my year with Konig (1977) I know most of the German OE drivers and my favorite without question was Hans George Krage.

Very good Lars. Everyone I know is like you and has the same favorite OE driver Hans George Krage. The second picture on Post 848, you know the guy on the far right holding a champagne bottle in his left hand and his right foot on a Velden.

Wayne..I just saw something interesting..the #11 Velden is using an early OMC OE engine/mid section. Do you have any more pictures of the boat-engine.

I got this great picture from a friend of mine.
We all can see a happy Roger Jenkins..not sure who is helping him getting ready for the race.
After study the picture for a long time I think it is from Liege, Belgium 1984.
To me the Carlsberg sponsored Evinrude F1-V8 boat is a Hodges. If I remember right the Liege race 1984 was the only race Roger raced a F1-V8 Hodges.
Yes..this was the race we lost Tom Percival.

Too many subjects to comment on at the same time, but I must first say it was a shock and very sad thing to hear about Tom Percival. As far as the photo I mentioned Lars, you are right. That was a Marlboro patch. The photo you told me I knew who was in the picture was easy because Joachim Mareth had his name running down the sleeve. And it was not so easy identifying Cees Van Der Velden from behind. I hoped mentioning his foot on the Velden boat might be a clue. As far as the motor, I'm sure I can find some other photos, and even thought I was freezing, I took a lot of pit shots. I will see what I have.

I was considering guessing Cees Van Der Velden but I did not remember him with so much hair..but now looking at this picture from the same time frame I was wrong.
