Default "Banjo" Neal Hydros and 30 B Runabouts

We always called Neal Hydros, "Banjo" Neals here in California. Some people had said they never heard them called that, but this 1953 Propeller said, "Banjo" Neal.

The Craven's were going to ask the SORC if they could run two B Races a day because they had 30 boats aND ONLY 16 COULD RUN THE FINALS...

I saw where George Andrews was Class C winner. I'mi sure this is the same George Andrews that set the Outboard World Speed Record ONLY TO BE KILLED IN HITS SECOND RECORD RUN?

    Interesting times.

Right family Ron, but George Jr who set the record, was born around the time his Dad was class C winner. George was a very special and talented guy. Very funny, an expert photographer and very passionate about what he did. His wife Susan was about half the size of Big George. Susan, Debbie and Ruth Butts got along very well. A lot of people probably don't know it but George Andrews, Jr. was the AP photographer assigned to the Whitehouse during President Clinton's term of office. Joe Rome knows lots of these stories because he and Tim Butts spend a weekend at kilo's with George at Morehaven a year or two before he was killed there. Joe was right when he told me that George was very passionate in every thing he did. Joe and I figured that's what killed him. After he set his record, he was totally pumped up, and went on to try to up it some more, but lost his life instead.
