Butch is presently in the hospital in Little Rock awaiting consultation with Doctors to see if surgery to clean out blockage of the carotid artery's, which based on initial test results and an MRI have indicated, may be required.

He has been there since Christmas Eve (pray for the hospital personnel) and seems to have gotten there in time to alleviate the numbness and slurred speech that first alerted he and his wife to the problem. I talked with him earlier today and he is hopeful that if surgery is required he will be able to go home this coming Wednesday as hospital personnel are now indicating he may be able to do pending a successful procedure.

I will keep all informed as to his progress and I'm sure he would appreciate your prayers and good wishes at this time. He would probably appreciate a Johny Walker scotch and water also, but I doubt that the Doctor is going to write a prescription for that.

Butch was discharged from the hospital and is home resting this evening after numerous tests to determine the cause of the problem. He will have his "pipes cleaned" the middle of next month and hopefully be as good as new again.

Thursday 1-14-10, Butch underwent carotid artery clean our surgery as a result of the stroke he had a couple of weeks back. His wife Barbara reports the surgery went well and he is in the ICU at present. If things progress as expected he should come home by Sunday.

He has indicated that he has had lots of well wishes since this occured and appreciates all his old friends calling and posting good wishes here.

Will post an undate when he gets home.

He is not doing as well as expected and hoped. Some problems with BP and heart rate, fluctuating up and down. Please take a moment for a prayer for his recovery.

Reports this morning is he seems to be doing better although still some problems with BP and heartbeat. There is also going to be further procedures done this coming week so he remains in the hospital in ICU.

Will keep everyone interested up to date as I hear.
