    Default disassemble merc 12inch mid

    Hi guys, im trying to get an old school merc 12inch mid apart, just the swivel housing, it has the mechanical (screw) up and down, however i cant seem to work out how it comes apart

    any help?

    Hey Bob. can do and will do. thanks heaps. next step was to check the parts manual. ill probably call thursday night when im tackling it.

    you have to beat the adjusting bolt out from the opposite side the hex is on, then the rest falls out, and while you're working on that find me a loose transom bracket for one, thanks, if yours is worn out I have a couple extras

    did you get that money?

    i cant say i know of any spare brackets but ill keep an eye open and ear out

    i more wanted to check all was ok. it has very slight movment, i think it could be more due to the up down part, it would have to have some sort of movement..

    well i have pulled it apart, id say the ring that moves it up and down may need replacing, isnt a real nice fit. bit of movement in it.. and also the brass bush in the swivel housing is worn, mainly on the bottom at the front... so think ill replace that too
