Now what needs to be done is the collection of facts.
Course sizes in time and shape and water conditions.
Who is driving what at these events, experience level number of entries
Qualifying times, start and finish positions.
    Number of race stoppages.

If we take the time to collect this and any other pertinent info we will see a pattern develop that will give us a good picture to make an educated decision for 2011 based on fact.

    Shep,
I agree that a "parity" committee be formed to monitor the progress of the Optimax and make adjustments as necessary to keep it in line with the 2.0.

    Dave,
I think you are asking how many could vote. In 2009 there were 52 drivers in the SST120 class that registered points so that is how many who are eligible to vote. Out of 52 drivers 33 ballots were received and counted with regards to the 200 in 120 vote.

Some of those drivers who Howie counted could have been people who just stepped into someone elses equipment and ran for a weekend or so and maybe didn't feel comfortable placing a vote seeing they had no equipment investment. Letting someone jump in and drive a spare boat is pretty common place at the local grass routes type club events.

Some people who no longer have equipment may have also voted. It probably all evens out. This time next year I'm sure there will be another vote to keep or separate the two classes.

If posts equal laps, I just lapped Shep 53 times.

33 votes were counted how many of those were 200 drivers running in the 120 class? The ballot clearly stated 120 drivers only, not 200 drivers running in the 120 class. I know some people are going to get mad over this post and question why I am even concerned over this issue since I dont drive but I am half owner of 3 120 boats. That is why I am speaking out on this issue

I received the following email this morning I understand this was sent to APBA HQ by the sender I removed his name and posted themessage here for everyone to see

I wish to challenge that proposal #2 was not done per by-law 12.7.2
The petition with more than 50% of the members in the class was sent to headquarters by a Council member.
The petition with its explanation and reasoning was not placed on the ballot for the members to make a decision with.
The ballot wording was not seen by the commission in advance.
This can not be consider following the rules and is a clear manipulation of the out come.
The members that signed the petition are very upset that they felt they were not heard.

The dates of effectiveness was not discussed with the commission in advance.
The items sent to the BOD for early implementation are still unknown to the commission.
Even less is known by the membership as there have not been OPC articles in propeller.
    There has been no communication.
    I am requesting a response.
