    Default Height

Should prop shaft be one inch above bottom of tunnel or above center pod?

with the prop u have i would start pretty deep maybe 1/2" above bottom of outer sponsons if they are deeper than center, if the center is deeper set it up like a v bottom 1" under. can you post some pics of the boat? how much offset is built into the boat?

If you ONLY want straight-a-way speed, Mount the motor so that the bottom of the gearcase is just touching the water, when on plane . ..you have to be sure you'll get enough water to cool the engine . You may have to put on a "nosecone" with an underneath water pickup .then get a 3 or 4 blade cleaver propellor, with much more pitch than usual. Then your boat may not want to turn, without a rollover, but it might go like a rocket . My did (it was a "sport E" tunnel, back in the late 1970's.)It was powered by a Rude 1975 short shaft HUSTLER (75 horsepower).

Thanks for all the help. I'll try to post some pics tomorrow if I can figure out how. I'm cutting the transom down 4 inches right now because it was built for a 20 inch motor
