    Default Fred

I have known Fred for some time, but only in the last ten or so years gotten to know Fred. He is truly a genuine nice guy. You don't see that quality as much any more. Fred would do just about anything to help a friend out.

I only know Fred from the Mod outboard races, but what I know of him demands respect. The last time I raced against Fred was in Burlington, WI a couple years ago. We had a fantastic 750CCMR battle for 1st Place. It was one of the most fun races I have had in the class. I even forgot who won, but remember the race well.

    My vote is for Fred.

    Default Fred

I remember Fred from the old OMC days. What has been said about him is truely real. Fred was a great guy when I knew him. I remember sitting on the hill at St Louis talking to him about piston materials. I told him about the properties of 390 and how I had switched all Homelite pistons to it. It wan't long after as I remember Merc was using it also.

Might be time to vote for Fred Hauenstein again for F1 Hall of Fame. He just got passed and moved down to second place (vote on left hand side of page):

I voted for Fred first time out of the box....but didn't realize until Scott brought it to our attention that it was like Marlee's volleyball coach that you could vote every day. Since then I have.....and will tommorrow early before heading out to Laredo. Everyone realize..... Fred is unique. He is not just one of the top racers in whatever he chooses to race for more than three decades...but he is and has been a top engineer for some of the finest powerplants that made a lot of other boat racers famous. He needs overwhelming support.
