Default 59 ci merc ,carby jets ???

is it safe to run .058 jets in a 60hp?
the reason i ask is that iwant to advance the timing out to 24* on my 55 seapro but in only has the .058 jets in it not .060 like the 60hp run.
i have the timing set at 22* at the moment and its running the best it ever has.
i pulled the plugs and they are a light coffee colour.
