We will be there in a couple of hours. Broke down in Lafayette currently. As soon as we get this 4wheeler cage welded back up we will be there.

I hear both drivers are ok, significant damage to both boats.

    Default Omg!

I think these pictures NOW show that the OPTIMAX needs to be in champ class and not racing with the 120's. I hope he's ok.

I would be careful about making statements like that. Having driven both the Opti and the 120 motors on the same boat I suspect driver error is the root cause and not the motor.

I didn't mean to ruffle your feathers Chris, I don't know who the driver is but I hope he doesn't quit and races another day.

    Pat Hensen...

Curious as to why you jump on the Optimax as the problem? It's a race, and things happen..sometimes not real good things. To place blame on an engine doesn"t make a lot of sense to me.

I doubt that this will make Jimmi Merleau stop racing!

As the pictures show this is clearly driver error, but why, 69 is only doing what's allowed. Is it his fault he's going 10-15 mph faster on the race course? No, he's allowed to run a bigger engine. Is it his fault that he blows past the bouy's? Yes. That needs to be addressed by the race officials. But the reason why he's going fast needs to be addressed by the engine committee. These pictures looks like 120's stepping up to Mod U at a club race where many accidents like this have occured. If an LCA (Latent cause analysis) is to be done then everything; including the more powerful engine has to be included to find the root cause. I just hope nobody get's seriously hurt before we figure it out. It's not apples to apples in my opinion. This is suppost to be fun remember..
