    Default David "DUTCH" Sandison, Jr.

    David Sandison passed awy this week after a long illness.

    Here are two pictures of him when he won the 1966 Marathon Nationals.

    Dutch is what I always called him don't know why!!

    We were friends, he seemed to always be willing to help or anyone else. He held the AU KILO RECORD at one time. He completely enclosed his cockpit with a thin sheet of rubber to cut down on wind resistance..

    A very nice guy, sorry to see him go!!!

    Default He was a sign painter...

    I don't know if Bob Powell, who owned Signs and Designs in Modesto, had anything to do with Dutch getting into racing or visa versa... Both were great at lettering Race Boats...

    Needles, Marathon Nationals, Hot Boat, 1966...
