Welcome to 120. If the boat was recently rebuilt you should have to do anything to bottom.

My recommendations to you would be first find some one near you that already races to help you. your profile says your in Tampa. Terry Rinker is an F1 driver that lives in the Tampa area Talk to him He's a good guy and probably some used equipment you can buy and can point you in the right direction on your boats needs.

Maybe some one has his contact info.

Second get your boat and motor set up so you get as much seat time as possible. A conservative set up and 1 good prop so you can learn to drive.

Call Chris fairchild he deals with a ton of 120 stuff 630-605-7223 and has a ton of knowledge

Here are two of them, but you don't necessarily need the older style. You just need to plug the hole up for the trim ram if you go with the newer style.

    Default Crack

ok I found a crack on the bottom side near back of boat I know what to use to repair the crack. I need to know if I should use a router to cut along the crack so I can fill it. the wood seems to be 2 to 3" thick in the area how deep should I cut to fill. the rest of the bottom is fine but when I have the boat painted is it ok to use auto paint and then a good clearcoat also on bottom.

Default Formula 2 sst 120 tunnel hull need help rookie

been waiting a couple days to see advice on props doesnt look like your having much luck on that one.The problem is no one knows what will work best for you, your boat & setup. My advice is to call & talk to prop manufactures pick the one that you feel that will work best with you. Keep in mind your feed back to what you need to dial a prop in is very important to getting a good prop. Most the courses are set up for a 30 to 35 second lap. Some are longer. you can find prop manufactors on this site,APBA site, apr site & others. As far as the bottom of your boat some like it some dont nothing replaces seat time & testing on both of these matters. Sorry there is no majic formula it would safe us all a lot of money
