water pump impelers??

i thought i'd ask,is there any advantage to running a 3 blade impeler compared to a 6 blade one?

is this a big performance secret or something?
i've seen a couple of pics of 3 blade impelers for sst 60 and that.
i just wanna know the pro's and con's?
do you need a lwp to run one?

I think pumps more water. Could be wrong. On the post about the SST60 someone said to run the 6 blades because for better cooling.
