    Default More Outboard Power

A Milwaukee area company is announcing that it is going to be producing a 557 hp outboard motor. It is a V-8 based on a supercharged 6.2 liter Cadillac CTS-V motor. Company headquarters are nor far from the origins of Mercury. Maybe Ronnie can work out a racing class for them. BTW, base price is $69K.

    Default New Class

Should we begin gathering tech info on it and get a new class into Mod now ? I bet it would be fast out of the box with little need for a lot of mods.

This is funny. Out here Cadillac offers "Crate motors" to off road races for CHEAP....Not sure the price but will find out. There is an Off Road Class for Cadillacs...Greg Foster has several of them.

Greg and I even talked about making a class for this engine.....

Then, I see Seven Outboard at Miami's Boat Show. My first thought was "WOW"...A cheap PRODUCTION POWERHEAD....like $2,500, and an outboard mid section and gearcase....Wow...A $10,000 outboard with 500 plus HP....Maybe even $20,000...as Merc's 300 XS is $17,700.

Where and how do companies come up with prices??? I hope they sell a million of these motors..................but I wonder!
