Congrats to all the winners! Thanks to my crew for all the hard work they put in moving buoys all day. Special thanks to Tracy for helping my daughter put her steering back together while I had to be on the course, You Tha Man Hawkins!!!! Thanks to the Baytown Boat Club their hospitality Friday & Saturday before the race. And last but not least, to my daughter Haley. She hung in there all weekend after all the motor problems we had. (Dads fault of course) You are my little trooper and I'm very PROUD of you! Hey David, you forgot a class.....Mike

P.S. Tracy and Curtis, You put on one hell of a show with that kick *** racing you guys did! Well Done my friends!

Tracy had a Coleman motor, a prop by McCauley & Son, and Hawkins determination. Congratulations Tracy for winning 3/4 heats. First rate driving, and a lot better finish than we'd expected!

No, didn't forget...because they are "THE" class. So many pictures, still filtering. Will be away from my desktop files the remainder of the week so trying to do as many as I can.

J class looks more like a flatbottom with small sponsons glued on than like a hydro, rough ride! Too bad they don't run the 15 hp motor, only difference with 9.9 hp is carb. The 15 will wind up and scream. We have one on a 330 lb Lyman-like boat with lift strakes, turns 6500 RPM and pushes the 'barge' 26 mph. Really a nice motor. The ride is wet, we call it our Jersey Speed skiff. .040" milled head gives it really satisfying punch.

    My motto: I don't run anything I can't lift .... .
