See if you can borrow a slightly smaller carb 28 or 25 the increased gas velocity might have a positive effect on crankcase filling at up to 7k.
What's the piston to squish band clearance at TDC?

The way to go with the prop with such a light load could be reduce the diameter to increase the revs, introduce some cupping & raise the motor to just before it won't hold on.
i took it for a run yesterday and got 5300. i have yet to lift up the motor, could probably go up 40-60mm from were it is atm. Getting on the plane was no worries then it took off. So with engine mods and another 2" of pitch 30 knots should be acheivable. No porposing or cavitation present. Hull was impressive. Still though at such low weight it is easy to get sketching if you sit back
