Default 60 EFI FORMULARACE from Mercury Marine

    Hi Ron:

I wrote a blog on the 60 EFI FormulaRace outboard.

Post the link if you like. Since I posted it Wednesday - I got a call from Mikael Frode in Sweden. There are now 58 F4 60 boats racing overseas. China alone has 20 boats (you will see the reference of the Chinese boat company that bought the molds and rights to Christian Molgaard's Gen 1 F4 boats and is now producing them in China) I think the APBA should pursue purchasing the China built boat for their one design series and get boat racing going again in the States! The UIM F1H2O series has eight boats, And there is a mix of boats running in Sweden, Finland, Poland, Germany, Norway, etc.

Sounds like the right thing to do
Since 1925, about 150 different racing outboards have been made.

I checked into these boats from Hangzhou Kanghua Boats Co., LTD. The price is $24,380 US dollars, plus freight to the United States.

    Default With motor

Here is some of the information that I received directly from them...

F4 motorboats: 17000Euro Fob Shanghai (with engine, ready for race)

Pls note the Mercury engine is produced in China Mercury at present, so we advise to order the F4 with engine because our price is better than u.

    Ron...

I am most certain that I would purchase the SST-45 that you have listed for Chris (and 4 other back up SST-45's) before I would pay 25K for this boat from China.

One bad thing with the new modern stock outboards in racing..

My friend Oskar was leading the Formula Merc/F4s race in Paris, France and
the engine goes in to "safe mode"..
So did the engine for the second driver in the race..

..."some drivers had problems in last heat with engines going into "safe mode" !!. I guess the famous Seine S**t strikes again !!!"
