Kay Marshall had a deal and raced a few times with my brother Lennartīs equipment in
    Formula 3.
    Not sure how and when..
She was/is a pretty good driver.

    Default Australian Outboard Racers

In the late 1950's, into the '60's... two that I knew were Jack Marshall and his wife, Diane.
They'd come to the US and he'd race with us in Wisconsin, then return to Sydney in the fall.

Jack was always encouraging us young guys to come to Australia for the job opportunities.

Jack had set a record in the late '50's with a cabover hydro with two Merc 44's on a gearbox on a single lower unit. Here, he ran alky hydros. I remember he had a C and D Konig with the 'can' pipes in the late '60s.

A 1959 'Outboard' magazine has a photo of Diane driving a hydro with a 20H. In that same article, other drivers listed were Ted Riley, Frank Rice, Harry Gibaud and Clive Caporn.

My Dad and I had the pleasure to meet Jack Marshall as well, and he spent a night or two at our house in 1968. He and my Dad corresponded up until he quit racing.

Does New Zealand count on this list? "Kiwi' Kim Newcombe raced in Australia in the late 60's while working as an outboard mechanic, and in between racing bikes. He became fascinated with the power coming from a small outboard engine...a Konig. He moved to Berlin and was given charge of developing the Konig powerplant for motorcycle racing. While testing, racing, redesigning, rebuilding and more racing on the GP Circuit in the European "Continental Circus" Dieter had him also racing "flunderen" (outboard hydroplanes). He and Dieter also won their class in the 6 Hours of Paris one year. He persuaded Dieter to let him stick to the motorcycles so he could get all the bugs out. He was tragically killed at Silverstone in 1973 in a short lived but brilliant motorcycle racing career.
