Hi Phil. I it is a little quiet from Selva.!!!.
Reading between the the lines I see it like this.. Selva have produced a epa power head and it has been tested on the race mid and box.
BUT there is some resistance from the teams currently running in the series to change!. This is because the current f1000i, engine has 3 years left on UIM homologation, so why change?.
Also some teams are moving to f2 next year so we have maybe 5 or 6 competition outfits currently for sale.
I know Bimbas team has 4 boats and engines for sale.
I have seen some new drivers come to the class and I guess it will stay strong as it is until the homologation runs out.
Selva are also producing a 4stroke special, but based on the Merc formula race, and but combining the more powerful Yamaha power head with the short mid and 1.84 ratio gearbox from the Merc!!!.
It's called a 60hp but is really a 70hp (it gets around some law or other. Its even badged as a 40hp in some market's)
Understandably it has met with some resistance from drivers using Merc 60???.
Who knows what the near future will bring.
If I here more news I will post it here.
    Carl

Anyone know details of Selva in F1000? Gear ratio, typical prop pitch, RPM, top
speed? Size of tunnel, comparable to F4S or SST60? Who makes the winning props?

I just looked up the factory address, Tirano, Sondrio, Italy. About 6 hrs over
mountain passes and toward Lago di Como from our Austrian address. Think I might take a
    trip SW next June.

Darrell has Roddy's old Kaos and the 'APBA Selva' in Houston.
Will be rigged and tested. I wonder who's building props for the
    winning Selvas.

Thanks, Phil, looking forward to receiving it. Try sending directly to me
    at

    outboard_services@mccauleyandson.com

Are the motors really made in Sondrio? That's not far
from our place in Austria, a trip of a few hours over the
Reschenpass in the direction of Lago di Como.

    Best,
    Joe

Phil was kind enough to send me the specs, the parts list is included. The 3 cyl. 1 ltr. motor pulls 90 hp, rec. gas to oil is synthetic oil @ 37:1.
    Geared at 13:14.

Here's the APBA carbureted Selva, now in Houston.

    Dear Olle

I would liek to thank you for your mail, but unfortunately we don't produce the F1000 any more.

Interesting, so Selva is pulling the plug ahead of time on the carburated F1000 in order to work
on the new EPA F1000 ( 2 stroke DFI TigerShark) AND their own version of the F4s ( 4 stroke Murena).
