    Carl,

Just for your information: I think it was 1994 when I withnessed a dyno test of Bjarne Horntvedt's F4/S850 engine at the Selva factory showing 104 HP @ 7000 RPM

My understanding is that OMC were too happy with the competition !!.
So OMC and Selva came to an agreement, Selva would build some OMC engines in Italy and Selva pulled the Selva engine from F3. !!

    Hi Carl,

I raced OE/F3 many years with OMC and the Selva brothers was also racing in the same class.
The Selva OE/F3 engine was very good..but not good enough to beat the best OMC.
OMC did not have any problem with Selva in the OE/F3 class..
but they used OMC carburetors for a year or two..
I remember Paul Kalb at OMC was not to happy about that..but he left OMC and the Selva brothers raced OE/F3 with me up to 1982..
    (1983 I switch to F1-V8).

Selva was good for the OE/F3 class and I think they can be good for racing again.

The first picture is a Selva OE/F3 at Idroscala, Italy 1982..(yellow arrow)
second picture is my OMC OE/F3 same race.

If the APBA ever approves the Selva, it would good to have the same rules as the UIM class. Notice this F1000 Selva skeg has been lengthened, as is allowed in many UIM classes.

If there is a new Selva I think it is going to be homologated by UIM.
That means the skeg must meet the homologation.

    PS..Long skegs slow you down..!!

(Close to the area I grow up) ..the race is called "The Hot Island Race"

The good looking Bimba is getting hard to beat..
Here she is with her colorful boat #11 ..Bimbas boyfriend drives the other green boat..#12.

Those shoes are better than Ted May's "Jumping Shoes"....

When can we buy a few of these Selva's???

    Default There Was A Time

Jack Leek used to say I was too heavy to compete with Renato and others because they weighed a 100 pounds lighter than me. I would counter saying it didn't matter how much I weighed as long as that weight was on the gas pedal.

Ann Strang liked my logic....as I kept my job with OMC for many years.

I just thought your shoe were "Styling"...
