    Default Rinker Nationals at Kankakee

Early reports indicate that the Florida contingent of the Rinker clan (Terry and Rob) have dominated the Kankakee OPC Nat's in their Amsoil-sponsored boats.

Word has it Terry won Mod U and Champ boat in his Lee Aeroslot and the SST120 title in his Caniff. Rob took top honors in his first year year runnning SST 60 and grabbed third in the SST 45 class.

If my math is correct, that also means Terry and Rob won the APR High-Points championships in the 120 and 60 classes respectively.

Sounds like a pretty good Labor Day weekened for the Rinkers.

The winds and restarts were brutal for the 120 final. It took 3 starts to complete 1 lap.

First start was scrubbed because McGrath was floating on the course near the start dock.
On the second start, Stacy Funk blew her engine on the back stretch, forcing another red flag.
We got a couple of laps in before Proffitt blew over in turn 3.
Then we got in a fair amount of laps before I blew over in turn 3.
A couple of more laps and McGrath blew over in turn 3.
McDowell didn't fire on the last restart.
After McGrath blew over, they called the race. I think I heard someone say that there were 12 or 14 laps completed total....

    Is what it is!
