    Default Newbie to BRF!

    Hello All-

My name is Carla and I just recently found this forum and THANK YOU for whoever started this!! I grew up in boat racing with my uncle [Joe Goade] racing flatbottoms and reading so many of the threads here it has really, really taken me back!! Nice seeing the old pictures and names......Val Wheeler, Jimmy Harris and Brian Daley!! It has prompted me to dig out some of the old photos!!

I have attached some photos.....first as you can tell are of my uncle's boat, one of my dad after our Sanger Flatbottom was completed by then Speed Marine in Orange, CA and then we were ski-racing [brother is the driver and hubby is the observer], the outboard is a GMT that was owned by Greg Foster, then Craig Wendt and then my brother. The last ones are of Mike Leach and Tummy Gummer at Irvine Lake, my husband was lucky enough to get ride in this crackerbox and I somehow got stuck on the dock taking pictures!!

Hope you enjoy and thanks for letting me be a part of this forum!!

Yes! I just need to scan them to my computer......here is a few more tho

Here is a short [very short] video I took of Mike and Scott @ Irvine in the Tummy Gummer. The hydro is Mike's dad boat.

If anyone has pictures of the "Dark Side of the Moon" boat would love to see them, that was one of my favorite boats growning up!

    Default Some more.....

Here are some more......the blue and white boat is my dad's boat Sanger Flatbottom that he purchased from DeeDee [I think??] @ Speed Marine, he did this in stages, first the hull, then the trailer, motor, bench seat and etc......

The second batch is when we were ski racing and there was flatbottom class......most of the picture are of the Rawhide boat....remember Elvis and "Clambake" movie?? Tho I'm not sure this is one of the originals...

    Enjoy!!
