Default Reed Stops or No Reed Stops??

Should I run reed stops on my 40 merc with 60 carbs and worked reed plate or should I just use the reed retainers like on a 60?

Currently turning a 15p 6200 rpms. The guy that did the reed plate said I should keep the stops because at those rpms the reeds aren't able to react fast enough if they just have the retainers instead of the reed stops.

    Default

    run reed retainers from 60
If you can't run with the BIG boys,
then sit on your porch with your feet up
    and sip tea.
