Boat Racing - Is It True?
BRF Members,
Jim Healey a long time, L.A., radio Sports Reporter always started his show with "Is It True?" He came on at 5:45 to 6:00 daily, though he often went to 6:05 of more. I never missed his show. No matter where I was, I found a way to listen to Jim Healy!!!
BRF was started in 2004, November in fact. We are now seven years old. We had always been hosted by Reece Hosting, they shut down completely in the middle of Halloween Day, never to be heard from again. I never had the password for the domain boatracingfacts.com But now I do and we are backed up daily.
TOP TEN BOAT RACING STORIES
1. Region 12 has several new A Hydro drivers. Marlee Hill's goal for A Hydro (2012) is elimination heats. IS it true there will be 14 A Hydros at Parker for the Thanksgivng Race?
2. Is it true I bought some more boats???? It seems, I really only have a Baker Stoker, a Stoker, a Mirage Jaguar, and LTV and an STV. Who will drive the Apple Valley Marine (Ron Hill) # 28 Stoker at Parker in COR http://www.corboatracing.com/ And I have a Mouse Boat, an Anderson A Hydro, and brand new Dawe A Hydro, a Sorensen C Hydro.....But everything I have is for sale, even the 4 OMC "A" Motors I have and the 3 Mercury "A" motors. If you want to start racing boats in California, call me.
3. Is it true that the Schwarzenbach family has rented a condo for 7 days in Branson, Missouri? They, Mickey, Vicky and daughter, will visit PFC Mathew Scahwarzenbach in Georgia while in Branson. We at BRF are all very proud that Mathew is a member of the U.S. Army.
4. Is it true that young Tito Smith has bought an SST 45 and will be racing at Parker. Big Tito is working out all the details for the February 18-19, 2012 Havasu Landing Racing. It should start warming up that time of the year. Havasu Landing is a great place to race.
5. Is it true that Emilio who works for Kevin at R and R Prop Shop, Henderson, Nevada, will have his Star Craft racing COR Thanksgiving??? Kevin tells me with the new plates, the boat really flies. IS it true I don't know Emilio's last name???
6. IS it true that Chad Hill went to the Amsterdam Boat Show and lost his bicycle. You can see his picture of Facebook, Chad Hill is his name. Chad has been at the boat show "MAMA” Kentucky, Lauderdale and now Amsterdam. He can rest a little then off to the Miami Boat Show.
7. THIS it true that there are 72 high school teams that race SOLAR BOATS in California? Is it true that Larry Smith, who built 20,000 Scarb Boats is heavy into electric powered boats. He imports batteries, and distributes solar panels that are made in America. Is it also true that Larry Smith has committed to buying 40 electric boat per month for the year 2012??
8. IS it true that this is the "NORMAL" economy? I think it is, get use to it, live with it. Start thinking about small boats. I sold 65 props in the month of August for boats with 70 HP or less. If you look at bright spots in boat racing you see Canada racing T850 and T750. I'm not completely sure what these classes are, but they are Vee- Hull with three cylinder older motors. They are allowing the E-Tec 60 to run in T750 as a test in 2012. Minnesota has VP 75, which is also a Vee-Hull class with NO POWER Trim, NO Nitro gearcases and older motors. 17 plus in the class Jeff Baker tells me he has four boats and is building more for others.
9. Is it true that I have more than 60 props on order for 15 HP four stroke motors? There are placing racing PRODUCTION STOCK OUTBOARD MOTORS. In Europe, they seem to be racing the 30-E-Tec. In Malaysia. they seem to be racing Yamahas on tunnels. In Singapore, they are racing TRUE tunnels with production gearcases and 2.0-liter Mercury motors. Is it true that they will allow the 175 SX to run in this class next year??? In Brazil they are racing 90 OptiMax Mercs, and in Australia, they race EVERYTHING.
10. Is it true that Marlee Hill and her dad Bunker, are going to the APBA Convention in Chicago, January 2010? It is Marlee's Christmas present! Is it true that Marlee’s "Shearpin" has more than three hundred subscribers???
Congratulation to Greg Glcuk for winning The Blue Water Resort and Casino 300 this last October. We hear the Joe Abalar , who had a bad blow over at Parker is home and doing well. We wish Joe a continued recovery.
In case you missed it, John Schubert and others are planing a DePue Reunion for 2012.
Bill Boyes had some eye surgery and is expected to recover 100%, but he did have a rough day after surgery.
I heard that Dan Schwartz continues to recover from his accident in Kankakee 2010.
I want to take time to thank Sam Cullis who works tirelessly for BRF, I helps people everyday, he ok's their membership to BRF, so we don't get killed with spam. All of you who post, please keep it up, we have more than 37,000 views a months, and the average viewer stays 5 minutes. Lars Strom, Master Oil, Aeorline (Alan)....to name three, I love your posts. The "GEAR HEADS" on the Technical Thread amazing me. We have so many view there, many people from all over the world want to know our secrets and we tell them.
