50's Aura River Speed Races - Aurajoen Vauhtikisat Turku Finland

In the fifties they used to have these river races here in my hometown, Turku, Finland. They were held between the top Finnish boat racers, and for example Rauno 'Flying Finn' Aaltonen used to race there. I've got a bunch of pictures from the boat club (Turun Moottorivenekerho) who was the organizer of this event. Here are some examples:

We've also owned two of the boats which raced there. The other one, Sikari, a 1929 Åbo Båtvarf prototype (which we still own) is in the last picture in my blog post, and the other one which we have already sold was this one:

I'm glad you liked the pics. At the moment I have 3 more pictures but haven't uploaded them yet. I'll post them later here and in my blog. All the other pictures are in the blog link that I already included in the first post.

I'm also doing little research so I'm pretty sure I'll find more pictures later.
