    Kinda.....truggy came from the creation of Mike Smith of Terrible Herbst Racing when he created Troy Herbst's "truggy". The difference between the two is "truggy" is open wheel and "trophy truck" is not! Typcially the truggies will run with the Class 1 cars since they have the open wheel look....

    Best to my knowledge, they both are setup same with the engine and transmission sitting for the most part under the driver and navigator.
