    Default Looper beast hits road

I have completed all the detail work including the travel cover for the motor and refitting of the dust cover. Just need to find the new balance point and see if the trailer will still be able to reach the new point to load and unload.

I will be taking the complete trailer load of boats to Mark Suters AOMCI meeting on the 18th of October.

With the boat now water ready, it is like being dressed up and nowhere to go. Just wait for some venue in the spring to do some testing.

If you are in the area of Byron,Mi., 4368 E. Braden Road to be exact, stop in as Mark has a tremendous collection of racing engines and boats, as Tim has stated. Just hope for good weather.

    See you at Marks

Thanks for the update on the carb preparation. Wish I could go over to see it on the 18th but plan on being at the World Championships in Lake Alfred FL that weekend but I'm sure I'll get to see it sooner or later.

Seems strange to go into my hobby shop, as my wife calls it, and not know what I actually want to work on. Not that I don't have many projects to complete, its just strange not to meet daily goals that I placed on myself to finish the engine.

I do want to thank all that followed this thread and the encouragement that drove me to stay on task and complete this project. Reflecting back, and looking at the thread and the dates of the posts, it seems impossible the amount of work that it required, even to me. However it was a combination of the work, the challenge and the desire to meet the self imposed challenge.

Again, thanks for holding my feet to the fire.

As I look back thru the thread I find unanswered questions which I will try to answer as time allows. I do apologize for the tardiness.

Looks like spring will a long time coming before a launch.

Any thoughts on possible water pressure issues with rudder mounted water pick up at 130 mph?

I do enjoy your build and all the details involved. I will make the finished product even more memorable to see. You might even consider packaging all your pics and explanations on a DVD.

The water pressure at 130 MPH should be 245 PSI. (speed in MPH) X (speed in MPH) X .0145 = 245 PSI Speed squared X .0145 = PSI

In all of it's glory at the Mark Sutter AOMCI meet. Good shot of the "business end" of The Beast

I noticed something that could cause you problems: it appears that you stacked the switch boxes one atop the other. Though a neat installation, the top box needs to contact a slab of 'cool' aluminum to effect a heat sink function.

Probably not a big problem as they are stacked that way on most if not all V6 engines that uses the same switch boxes ...
