The motor has been ported with 60 carbs and a bobs cone with lwp. The speed was by gps. I have pics on my avatar and videos can be seen on YouTube under bogalusa boat club Sabine river race. Thanks David

I'd suggest running the motor lower. Push the nose down and pick the tail up and it should be faster. Or you need a prop with less rake and a little more cup at the trailing edge of the face of the blade. Nose up is S L O W, unless you don't have enough HP to push it over and can't do anything about it.

At the risk of starting another argument, I'd also like to point out that capsule boats and helmets really should be used together.... The cockpit opening is quite small and it's not easy to be thrown out if something should happen. It's more likely that you'll go through part of the capsule. Just a bit of friendly advise.

    Have fun!

Thanks for the advise. I usually wore a helmet. The nose running so high is probably from me liking the trim button too much but I no longer have this boat. I now have a 13' Allison. It's not as fast on the big end but much more fun to run the way we race. We usually run 1/8 mile from about 25 mph at the start buoy. I'd like to go from an in gear idle but the Bogalusa guys can't plane out fast.
