With the lost foam block what features am I looking at that are different from other 56 ci motors?
If building a performance motor, you want the permanent cast rather than the lost foam.
The permanent cast doesn't have glue lines to restrict and disturb flow. It also has higher crankcase pressure.
The rear of the block has webbing between outer head bolt hole and exhaust side on the lost foam. The permanent cast does not have it. Look at the pictures that were posted earlier in this thread.
Hard to see it but the last two pictures looks like they were foam because you can see the little circles that look like there raised on the exhaust side, correct? while the first picture like you said there is a web or looks like a gusset coming off the studs for the head and the rest of the exhaust is smooth correct?
Just read my statement again. Then look at the pictures. They have had the info corrected since my post.
