when did they stop making the blocks pictured above, the smooth ones ?

I ask this as i have a 1995 3 cylinder 60-70hp block that has webbing,
infact ive got 2 blocks identical.

or are these completely different engine blocks to mine ?

i was just going by the cubic inch thing

well all this seems very strange.

evinrude in their sales brochures say that the new engine for 95 has the bigger 920cc block !!!!!

yet it seems that this engine block has been around a while before hand....

and what makes the higher crankcase pressure ?

This all could have been a sales pitch to sell more maybe.

if you look up some things like the ngk spark plug website that even says the 56 wasnt around untill the 90's.

maybe it was just some countries that didnt get the bigger cc engines till later.

the 3 cylinder 60 in the uk from 89 wasnt 56ci it was 49ci

look at this chart from boat setup.com.

the same spark plugs were used in both
Be carefull with a new engine story, if a horsepower change means the engine changed then they would be right in saying this year the 60hp has a new biggger engine as it was last years 70 (derated)
