Thread: What year evinrude 75 is this??

    Oh i know enough about what was derated to give bigger hp etc.
    but in 1995 the 3cyl came in 50hp - 60hp - 70hp, all 56ci engines.
    .
    sale gimmicks include

    "this years 60hp is the most powerfull 60hp on the market"

    if an engine is 60hp then its 60hp....might have more torque low down etc ,but its still 60hp.

    and whats with the 75hp ? is that flywheel rated ?

    So a 75hp is probably just a 65hp or 70hp at the prop.....


    why do they not just stick to one set of measurments,

    are all engines since around 1990 now measured at the prop for hp ?

    and by changing my 60hp to 70hp carbs from around same time would it realy give an extra 10hp for such a small difference?

    and would it use an extra 10% + of juice to go with the extra hp ?????

    32" are the long ones
    23" is the short one
