    Question sst60 mid section question?

I'm wanting to go with a 56 motor instead of the 49. My question is this the adapter plate and tuner slides down into i guess what is called a exhaust housing extension which then slides down into the short mid. The sst60 doesn't have this adapter plate and tuner that slides into the short mid.

I'd like to know does the short mid on the sst60 does it have some kinda heat shield welded in there so you don't burn up the water pump with the exhaust?? I assume this long box that the tuner goes inside is to keep fire off the water pump correct?

Does someone have a picture of a close up of the sst60 mid or where they might have a heat shield?

How long is the tuner on a sst60 I have been told I will have to cut one down down from a long shaft to fit?

    Thanks
    Chris

its just like a stock 49 short shaft but without the inner exhaust housing so yes the exhaust blows onto the pump

    The tuner specs. is 2 3/8" x 2 3/8" inside, 1 1/2"x 1 3/4" up top and 7.69" long.
I got the info. a month or so ago and kept it for a future project, hope this helps.

The 7.69 includes the exhaust plate.

You can get the sst60 specs from the opc race site.

The water going through the mid section from the power head plus the actual water going through the water pump will keep it cool enough. I've never had a problem or seen it with the other guys I race with.

How thick of aluminum is the tuner both the base plate and the tube itself? and where or who makes the solid mount?
