Default OMC 15A gear case sounds

The gear case is disconnected from the power head. This doesn't sound too good to me. (Or, is this normal?) I've had it disconnected from the power head in the past, and don't ever remember it sounding like this. What should I do?

Sounds abnormal and probably needs repair. As a start drain the lube into a clean pan and let's see what comes out besides gear oil, like metal chunks.

Abnormal noise; get your torx bits out & disassemble it!

Send it to me I'll fix it! The "A" G/C is easy!
