Default I was doing the "MATH"...

I was doing the "MATH", then, I realized it was realy arithmetic, but I'm 60 3/4 right now, if I live to be 95, I'll need to post 11.2 pictures from my boxes of pictures, every day, if I want all my pictures on BRF...

FYI, Sam 75-H, has saved everything we have posted. He's saved it on a DVD. we plan to back up our stuff every two months....

It was a "FOLD OUT" Front cover, 1972....

    Give up???

    Default Modesto , 1962

I'm not really sure that 1962 is right, but it seems I broke the DU Record there in '62....and if you look in the background, C-2 is Harry Bartolomei's DeSilva Runabout...and on top of his trailer is his DeSilva "BULL NOSE" hydro......

He destroyed this boat in May of 1962...and I'm pretty sure I never ran the kilos at Modesto before 1962...To the left is my OLD MAN, Russ Hill, Sr., he inspected anything...seems he understood spec sheets, me, I understood BS!!!

I do know that Ernie Rose's boat was an old OUTBOARD SPEEDLINER, and he had the throttle the "WRONG" side of the cockpit...He could make that "LIL BEE" stand on its side and run 85 MPH... quite a "SHOW MAN" that Ernie Rose...

When I think about throttles on the "WRONG SIDE", when throttles came into vogue, in outboard racing, the Harrison Family from Vermillion, Ohio, Millie Harrison, the Harrison father, decided that the throttle should be on the right side to help you stay in the boat...it was about the 1930's when he installed his first throttle, it was into the late 1960's when they still ran their throttle on the "WRONG SIDE"... Hell, maybe, they where right!!!

In about 1956, Elgin Gates, Mercury Distributor, helped organize an International Regatta in San Diego...It was decided that half of the boats in each class would be Mexican and the other half would be AMERICAN... And each American was "TEAMED" with a Mexican partner....

Well, may dad was helping my partner tune his motor and every time my dad would squeeze the throttle the motor would bog down and almost quit, then he'd let off and the "SUCKER" would scream like a "Banshee Indian", finally, we explained to our "PARTNER" that he had his throttle hooked up backwards...

He said, "No, Senor, when I go too fast, I just squeeze it a little."...

Who is to say, maybe, WE HAVE OUR THROTTLES HOOKED UP BACKWARD!!!
