Default British Anzani technical information needed

    Hello Folks:
Newbie here, im probably in the wrong forums, im not sure exactly where i fit in. Firstly, its great to see a lot of information on the British Anzani and i had no idea that they were so successful. Im all the way over here in Australia, and i stumbled over one not that long ago, i had no idea what it was, but it look quite radical (im from the motorcycling world, and im amazed i never heard anything about these engines ....maybe i needed to get out more), water cooled two stroke, i initially bought it for the carby and ignition, but when i googled it and found this website, i quickly decided to keep it. Far too good to let go, id really like to see what this machine can do. Mine is in poor condition, im looking for any advice and or parts ( i have no idea what the situation is at all, so bare with me). As an engine , i find it really fascinating, and i think its worth putting some effort into, and that depends on the size of the task i guess.
    I have some engine numbers,
    Crankcase No:SO-4727-BS
    Cylinder No: SO? 60 725
    Head No: S3 (SO)4726

Ive loaded up a couple of pics, like i said, its rough, looks like from the hole in one of the cylinders and a corresponding split into the water jacket same place on the other cylinder, its been left with water in it. A lot of corrosion, ive been giving it some electrolytic sodium carbonate treatment and its getting better. At least i will know what the damage is so far.

Ok, folks, any help you could offer, in the way of technical information would be really appreciated.

    Thanks

Kay Harrison probably knows as much about Anzanis as any American alive today. In fact he and his father manufactured many replacement parts for the Anzani and later built their own engines based on the Anzani.

Kay often shows up on this site. Hope he gives you a shout!

If you dig around this web site you'll find other Anzani experts as well.

    Good luck mate!

They probably leak oil--a British tradition.

You may be right Jeff, and if its anything like some of its contemporaries, ill fill it with Olive Oil and safety wire pork spare ribs to the block, ....i might get a meal out of it.
