I remember that my dad took us to Galveston, Texas for the Galveston 250 Regatta held in Offatts Bayou. I believe it was a marathon race for inboard boats (and I do recall multi-engined outboard boats as well). My memory isn't what it used to be, but, I believe it was held one time only in either 1968, 1969, or 1970 time frame (actually, it was held in 1968, 1969 and 1970 - Memorial Day). I recall Lou Brummett driving Rawhide was there as well as Red Adair. I remember one guy died during the race when his engine exploded (Boat called "Ambusher II"). I found a link to the newspaper article many years ago (Houston Chronicle) but can no longer locate the article. Actually, I did find the racing program below in this forum. It was May, 1968. My second cousin from Austin, Roy Reeves, raced in the 3 engine multi-engined outboard race.
