I cant find a year my outbord mercury 115 can some one tell me not shour if it is a red band from what I have been reading also I have a pod set up on my boat what is the reason for this and benefits thanks

the decal colors look like mid 80s to me

I believe these are the red band motors though

should be on the swivel bracket .......also on a welch plug behind the igntion plate assy on the stbd side of the powerhead..
