    Default Mariner / yamaha 30

Looking for some info on these, the 2 cyl ones. Came in 25hp and 30hp as far as I know. What kind of crank have they got? Is it pressed together or a solid steel one like the 55hp 2 cyl? How can I disconnect the rev limiter? Can I get boyesen reeds for it? Will the 55hp 2cyl carbs go on?

    Cheers

Crank is one piece. No idea on the rev limiter.

    Default mariner 30hp

there is two version of cdm ignition in this motor.the one with TPM 'timing protector module"(this not the one we want) , the one with rpm limiter( this is the one we want) just remove the limiter than you are good for 7000rpm !

it is a yamaha 30hp. there is no rpm limiter the CDI unit.we use to rave up to 8000 with the stock up. the only things you need to do is convert the ignition to the fixed timing plate version.and swap the flywheel as well. this
yamaha 30hp 2 cylinder been conquer 30hp tunnel category for so many year in my country before those yamaha 30hp 3cylinder come along.

Thanks lcp, this is all good stuff.
I'm doing this on a budget (£0), trying to do everything with bits I have just lying around. I have a 30hp engine complete, and a non-runner 25hp of the same engine. I was thinking of doing above prop exhaust mod, removing the flywheel ring gear and the rev limiter. I have a 10 x 15p chopper for a tohatsu 30 which I'm hoping will go on. There's also a non runner 55hp 2cyl if any of the parts will go on.

So am I right in saying this engine has no rev limiter?
