How do you make the exhaust like that? Or do you just add a bit like in the picture?
How does it affect performance? The same as above prop exhaust?
thanks

on that Moda you would block off the drain in the bottom of the exhaust addapter

then drill and drain it on the side

makes it pull harder

I wonder how spraying a thermal barrier paint down the tube would help?
I'm sure some one can fill in the science on This in more detail (than me) It changes the sound pulse a bit in the exhaust from what I know some gain a bit of hp some not so much. The other thing is you're midsection is going to run hotter. Also you're water pump can melt from the heat if it's not protected.
Hot exhaust is the winner in any race
Drying out the mid as above is one way of doing it but has downside.
Pwc racers have a controler to add/remove the water.
And yes hot exhaust travels faster and changes direction faster, when you dont have 4' of expansion chamber space, it all helps
Be careful with the hot exhaust on a 45 SS as your water pump cover will melt.
Ok, so instead of blocking off all the drain holes why not keep one open and run a tube all the way down on top of the water pump housing? The tuner would remain hot and your pump would be well protected.
I think the question he was asking was about where the exhaust gases was coming out of the mid from the short snout.
You can buy this and bolt/weld it on http://www.bobsmachine.com/Exhaust-H...403-220000.htm
It will mak a bit more noise and power than stock
