    Default OLD 65 OMC shorty

A friend of mine has a really old 65 omc sitting on this junk boat in his back yard..it has the electric shift crap in the lower and all..... BUT.. it has a 15'' mid section!.. He says i can have the thing so question is.. can i use this mid to build my next sst60 for my critchfield? Or will it work at all for anything???

Yes it will work but you need to drill out at the top of the steering arm in order for the shift shaft to fit when you put the lower unit on..on some of them she is a really tight fit. You can also adapt the shift shaft of a two cylinder that slides through the hole better as it does not have the offset but you need to change how it attaches to the shifter at the bottom of the power head.

Did that once with a Merc 200; weird to have two neutrals!
