    Long Island, NY

I want something safe, affordable and something that could actually take off and become popular. I think the real key to getting this kind of racing to take off is a standardized platform. My dream is to build a 10ft deep V hull with a large pad and then get a company to build them out of rotomolded plastic like a kayak. $500 out the door and supply your own engine.

I am dreaming but it keeps my mind busy.

Small ill-handling boats with 4 different engine classes and 4 driver classes :youth,women(130lb min), men(165min) and heavyweight(200min). What's not to like? But seriously I do it because it's close to me and we don't get much other race action in the mid-atlantic area. Although class creep is getting a little ridiculous.

On a short course, with a full field of twelve boats, that could be fun!

Do not like the idea of not everyone has a dead mans throttle. Do they have a ignition cut off if thrown out of the boat or flips ? Looks like a fun race otherwise. Captbone, what part of Long Island are you located ?

No more than 6 boats at a time, they all are required to have emergency cutoffs even the 60s vintage points motors that never had a povision for it.
