    Default 52 ci merc any good?

    a mate over here bought 55 seapro merc thinking it was a 59 ci motor , but it turns out its 52 . its a 96 model. are they any good to mod ?
    fred the 55 merc mertens used to run was it a 52ci ?

    yes, they ran a 52, word has it they ran three trick sleeves with reset timin...............

    59 sleeves in a 51.8 ? Is there a difference in port timing?

    be best to put a degree wheel on it to see where they are. it's easy, tdc = 0, bdc =180, jam a camera down the spark plug hole. i do know that on a dyno those power heads, there power curve falls hard not long after the limiter mark.
