    Default VRO pump

I have the large VRO pump in a few of my outboards, since I premix my gas was just wondering if I can strip some of the garbage off the pump.
They sure take a lot of room.
    Thanks
    Mike

    Cool

You can replace the hold thing an replace it with an older type fuel pump.
You will have a lot more room under the cowl and much easier acess to the carb's.

Well I heard that the VRO pumps more vollume, that's why I want to stick with it for now, anyway I was looking at it and doesn't seem like I can strip much off of it if anything.

I think there is a conversion kit to remove the oil pump or was that a complete new pump only?
Yes they do pump more BUT as they are bigger they dont like big revs like the old style

If it's a 3 cyl. omc and has a pluse hose just replace it with the older type pump that has a pluse hose fitting.
These are used on sst-60's an other's ..

SST60 uses an electric fuel pump and regulator, I'm not a stranger to the old pump, I just wanted to know if it was possible to strip part of the pump off.
    Thanks

Ya, was thinking the same earlier on but got sick this winter and just got back to work 2 weeks ago so I gest I was just penny pinching,
thinking the big VRO pump would be adequate for the job.

That's how 2 of my motors are running for the past 7 years but this power head that I built this winter is on a short shaft with a bit of port work and cleanup, shaved head and fiber reeds, going on a Delta padded vee, so I expect to revs this between 6800 and 7200 RPM.
    Thanks for the help.
