    hi guys ,treat me like an idiot which iam ,what is a jackplate?? and what advantage would it have on norm trasom v hull with high speeds like 50/75 mph with a lengh of 14/16 feet ,if i move engine further from trnsom does this improve lift,but to much make boat unable to trim ???? oh so many qustions,but so much knowledge out there !!!!

    A jack plate lets you easily move the motor up and down. A hydraulic/electric jack plates let you change motor height while underway. It lets you start out with your motor down low to get over plane and move your motor up when you are over plane to go faster (with less of the lower unit in the water).
    Since 1925, about 150 different racing outboards have been made.
